Our Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Situation:

As part of an effort to improve gas transmission capacity from the Marcellus Shale, BOND was engaged to construct a new compressor station. Situated on 68 acres in Springville, Pennsylvania, the new facility houses eight turbines and associated power control and instrumentation.

This two-phased project included the foundation and building erection of a compressor station for Williams Field Services, on a green-field site. BOND worked with LMC Industrial Contractors and other contractors on this highly-coordinated site to complete the foundations and building erection on a very tight schedule.

The first phase of the project involved the placement of more than 1,000 cubic yards of concrete, as well as coordinating the setting of three compressors and multiple skids within a tight site in order to meet a critical supply date for Williams.

The second phase of the project involved the placement of more than 1,200 cubic yards of concrete while working on an active compressor station site to complete the setting of five additional compressors. In addition to being an integral part of the project team, BOND also worked very closely with Williams and LMC to coordinate the safety procedures for the site.

Challenges:

  • Fast track schedule
  • Remote site access
  • Sequencing of critical equipment deliveries

Solutions:

  • Utilization of sophisticated management systems – including BIM 360Field, Revit, Primavera and HCSS – to closely track and manage schedule
  • Significant pre-planning to coordinate craft and vendors for timely delivery

Results:

  • Flawless safety record
  • Project delivered on-time and on budget
