Position Description:

The Desktop Support Engineer’s primary role is to provide troubleshooting and resolution of assigned day-to-day IT cases relating to hardware, software, email and networking issues.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.) and/or new equipment (laptops, tablets, and phones)
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day software and hardware issues for end users
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.)
  • Assist with setting up new hires, both accounts and hardware
  • Support the technology needs of employees in the offices and in the field

 Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience providing end user desktop support

Experience with:

  • Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on Active Directory and Exchange account creation experience
  • Troubleshooting basic networking issues
  • Mobile OS, such as Apple’s iOS and Android on phones and tablets
  • Microsoft Office 365 a plus
  • A+ Certification a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – You will be directly communicating to our end users both in person and through electronic means
  • Strong people skills are a must – ability to interface with both technical and non-technical team members
  • The ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency and problem ownership
  • Must be a team player focused on the success of your team as well as yourself
  • Sense of humor and ability to keep spirits high while you work
