Bob has more than 35 years’ experience in the construction industry with a focus on preconstruction, estimating and value engineering. He leads BOND’s preconstruction effort within the Healthcare and Life Sciences Group, ensuring clients’ needs are addressed and resolved early on. This includes providing insight into constructability means and methods and making recommendations that streamline construction cost and schedule.
Prior to joining BOND, Bob served as Chief Estimator at The Richmond Group, a construction management and design-build firm specializing in life science facilities. He also served as Director of Preconstruction Services at The Martins Companies as well as Chief Estimator at Walsh Brothers, Inc. His project portfolio includes clients such as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Biomedical, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Mt. Auburn Hospital and The Ragon Institute.
Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University. He holds a MA Construction Supervisors License, E.I.T certification and 30-hour OSHA certification. A resident of Carlisle, Massachusetts, he is a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators and American Society of Civil Engineers.
Bob has a love for building that extends well into his childhood. Growing up in Sudbury, Mass. as a young student, he pursued several after-school jobs that involved carpentry, surveying and residential development. Now he keeps that same passion at work and at home, whether its building projects with his three sons or the creative pursuit of home renovations. When asked why he loves building so much, Bob says, “I enjoy the planning, design, construction and being proud of the end product. It may sound boring to some, but if you truly love it like me, it’s not!”
