Position Description:  The Accounting Manager will assist in the Civil & Utility Division month end close process, the preparation of internal financial reports and analyses, and development of new reporting and analyses tools as necessary for the Division CFO and Management team. This position is “hands-on” and will require independent task performance and finance staff supervision as directed.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform and drive month-end close procedures (account reconciliations, journal entries, department overhead review and forecast, etc.)
  • Assist with the preparation of Division monthly/quarterly/annual internal financial statements
  • Manage and monitor weekly cash forecasting, timely processing of Accounts Payable invoices and Accounts Receivable billings and collections
  • Oversee finance support staff, specifically the Assistant Office Analyst
  • Preparation of project specific staff billing rate tables
  • Assist in the development and implementation of management reporting to track, analyze and improve financial performance
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and consolidation of financial plans and forecasts
  • Effectively communicate financial results and forecasts to the Division CFO, and when required the Management  team
  • Assist in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of internal control processes

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of overall financial accounting experience, 2+ years of direct reports supervision experience
  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA, CMA or related professional certificate optional
  • Expertise in financial accounting, cost control, and analytics required
  • Experience in construction contracting highly desirable
