BOND is seeking a superintendent within our Providence, Rhode Island office to oversee key projects within our healthcare & life sciences and/or academic market sectors. Candidates must have 15+ years experience in a similar role.

As superintendent, you will supervise, oversee, plan and ensure the success of the construction job site. You will be responsible for the planning, organizing and controlling of the project(s). You will continuously complete quality inspections of all related work and materials and ensure that budget, design and schedule are met and followed. You will monitor and supervise all of the operations, workers and subcontractors and report project progress to BOND and the client.  Your overall responsibility is for the construction site and you must successfully meet the time, quality and financial obligations of the job in a safe environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the total construction operation
  • Ensure that all health and safety project plans are implemented
  • Track the project department spending and budgets (materials and labor)
  • Lead and supervise the workers and monitor work performance
  • Liaise with external agents and inspectors and meet required standards in terms of licenses, safety and any other obligations
  • Work collaboratively with management by keeping them informed of progress and summarizing information and trends
  • Supervise all subcontractors and manage relationships
  • Meet and enforce all safety rules and regulations
  • Provide assistance and input with pre-job planning, strategizing and conceptual scheduling
  • Mentor subordinates and promote team atmosphere that reflects BOND’s values

Qualifications:

  • Requires exceptional leadership, interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships
  • BS OR BA in engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience of 15+ years in the Construction Industry
  • Builder’s License and Construction Supervisor credentials
  • Possess extensive knowledge of the Owner contract, drawings, subcontractor agreements and scope and risk management mitigation abilities
  • Exemplify a thorough strong understanding of construction processes and best practices including issues like complicated earth retention systems, foundations and support of adjacent structures and winter work
  • Demonstrated experience with scheduling process and use of a project plan
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast paced environment
  • Must have excellent time-management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables
