BOND understands that LEED certification is an integral part of building today. We act as a partner with the owner and the architect to guide the design and construction process in a manner that balances the desired level of certification with the realities of program and budget.
By working as a team, we can identify LEED points that are easily achievable and incorporate them early. We can evaluate the less obvious points based on price, return on investment, or impact on design and construction to help the client make informed decisions. In addition, sustainability analysis is a regular aspect of our Value Informed Design (VID) process.

METHOD
BOND analyzes possible LEED-influenced decisions throughout the design phase of the project. We provide information on cost, schedule impact, and constructability issues. Design engineers use our cost information in life-cycle analyses. Our input helps owners make informed decisions regarding LEED points to attempt.
During construction, we oversee and verify the constraints that the LEED certification process has placed on the project. Areas we manage and validate include waste management and recycling, procuring local materials and materials from controlled forests, ensuring that the required percentage of material has recycled components, and incorporating energy-saving strategies throughout the construction and life-cycle of the project.

Sustainability

One of the ways in which BOND provides quality and innovative construction management practices is by incorporating energy efficiency, clean technology and renewable energy and resources into planning, building and facility operations for our clients. Our history, philosophy, and people are the key to achieving our client’s sustainability goals and green initiatives. This strong foundation and an integrated role with the design team and owner allow us to deliver a functional and cost effective LEED, or similarly sustainable, facility thus ensuring that the implemented programs benefit both the environment and the owner.

We have completed a number of LEED Certified projects, a sizable number of our professional staff are LEED AP, and our work also includes Lab 21 projects.
