Bob Murray on the new BOND image

Welcome to BOND’s new website! This is a culmination of a lot of work by a lot of people; a number of BOND people were involved in this effort, as well as our consultants. This is our first ever blog, and I am taking the opportunity to write a bit about our new website and our new ‘look’.

In early 2008, we started looking forward to the second century of BOND. Just before that, we had celebrated our 100th anniversary. That was an opportunity to look back on our firm’s growth from a new enterprise in 1907 started by Thomas J. Bond on Ferry Street in Everett, MA, through decades of growth and diversification. By 2007, BOND had grown into one of the region’s largest and most respected construction companies.

Time for a change
Moving forward, we found that we needed to project a new vision and identity that talks about who we are now, and who we intend to be in the future. Our clients are developing projects and plans that demand a sharpened focus on their needs, and their technologies. Therefore, we felt that our message and approach needed to reflect this new era. It’s no longer about who you once were, it’s not enough to have a legacy, and it’s certainly not a time to rest on your past accomplishments.

After determining what we needed, and after interviewing a number of firms, BOND engaged kor group www.kor.com to help us develop our new message and graphic brand identity. The process involved a number of internal and external analyses to determine a clear, succinct and bold statement about who we are, who our clients think we are, and how we wanted to portray ourselves.

Who we are
A couple of interesting observations that came out of the discovery process were the fact that many of our clients and business partners described us as “BOND” more than “Bond Brothers”, and that many people recognize our orange trucks on the roads and worksites throughout the region. Therefore, we simply designed our graphic imagery around these factors.
Hence the new simple and clear BOND ‘mark’.

The BOND of today is comprised of the industry’s best talent; we have numerous initiatives underway, including sustainability, staff training and best-in-class QA/QC standards. We are also integrating technology, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), sensibly into our business practices focused on strengthening our firm, our people and our project delivery.

I hope you will find our new BOND image to be a true reflection of the firm we have become.

Best,

Bob Murray
