Wall USA: Boston Street Furniture Program

Description:
BOND worked on an annual contract basis to provide site support for the installation of more than 400 European-styled public structures throughout the city of Boston. The units range in design from unisex self-cleaning “city toilets” to telephone pillars, kiosk information panels, and bus shelters. Streets were opened, utilities were brought to sites, and foundations were constructed which allowed the client’s to install the different components.
Challenge/Situation:
All of these units are installed in dense urban areas, most notably in business districts.
Solution/Action:
Our crews were extremely sensitive to community concerns, and alternated day and night schedules
Benefit/Result:
This project helped create a “user friendly” urban experience in Boston for residents and visitors
