O&G Industries: Braintree Electric Light Department, Watson Station

Description:
BOND undertook heavy civil and concrete work in support of construction of a new power plant. BOND played a significant role as part of the design/build team to provide mass excavation, sitework, underground utilities, and cast-in-place concrete, as well as managing the installation of interior finishes of the control room for this new waterfront power plant in Braintree, MA. Our crews formed and placed over 4,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, and installed a steel sheet earth support system serving as a seawall along the waterway. The site safety plan and environmental controls required great diligence.
Challenge/Situation:
The project needed to meet an accelerated construction schedule and quick delivery of mechanical towers.
Solution/Action:
Customized anchor bolt placement templates were employed as part of our quality control program.
Benefit/Result:
The anchor bolt installation enabled electrical and mechanical contractors to set equipment without difficulty or delay, and without impact to the strength of the bolt or concrete.
