James Keefe

General Superintendent

“I typically spend about 80 percent of my time in the field, managing the superintendents who are out on different projects. They’re responsible for scheduling and managing the subcontractors, which is a huge job, and I’m there to lend a helping hand whenever they need it. I also work with them at a big-picture level to make sure their projects are staying on track. My job is really an extension of the operations department as it applies to what’s happening out in the field.”

“In my day-to-day communication with the superintendents, I like to let them know that their issues are my issues, and that they should look to me as someone who will help them solve problems. The more willing they are to confide in me, the better it is for the company and for our clients, because open communication makes it easier to solve problems and find new ways of doing things. That might sound like a no-brainer, but it doesn’t happen everywhere. There’s a sense of trust at BOND that’s unusual, and it flows through every level of the company. We always know where things stand, and that helps us do better work.”
