“As an estimator I’m responsible for determining what subcontractors will be needed on a particular project and then soliciting pricing from them so that we can submit the most competitive bid. Our goal is to save clients money by finding the best pricing, but we also need to vet each subcontractor in order to ensure that they’ll deliver quality work. It means dealing with lots of different people all at once, and it requires good communications skills and a high level of organization.”
